SHMT Assist (Methyl-Glycine-GSH Boost) is a product designed to support methylation, production of glutathione and healthy glycine levels, which can be determined by lab testing and/or clinical & genetic evaluation.
Those with the SHMT variant may be more susceptible to “trapping” of folate and folinic acid and slow the creation of glycine, which is for important biological functions such as making glutathione. Epigenetic stress and genetic variants may also slow the methylation cycle and neurotransmitter cycle and decrease folate availability for critical biological functions.
