Pro Hydroxocobalamin provides 1,200 mcg of hydroxocobalamin in an easy-to-deliver lozenge form. This form of vitamin B12 easily converts to methylcobalamin (a coenzyme form of B12 utilized within the body) and is well tolerated for those who have difficulty taking “pre-methylated” B vitamins. Vitamin B12 is required for proper red blood cell formation, neurological function, healthy cellular detoxification, and DNA synthesis. Vitamin B12 functions as a cofactor for methionine synthase and L-methylmalonyl-CoA mutase. Unlike cyanocobalamin, which consists of cobalamin attached to a cyanide molecule, this product contains hydroxocobalamin which does not contain any potentially harmful compounds that require additional processing for safe removal from the body.
